In The Midst Of Divorce Allegations, Kim K Surprises The Real People Behind Her Success With $10K Gift

By | family, Food for thought, generosity, heartwarming, Inspiring Celebrities, inspiring celebs, kim kardashian, stories

Keeping Up With The Kardashians has been part the fabric of pop culture for years. Now, as it finally wraps up, Kim Kardashian West and her family are showing that they owe a lot of their success to their crew by gifting them Rolex watches as the show wrapped.

These watches, which go for around $10,000 each,  were gifted to each of the 30 crew members, according to TMZ.

The end of an era

“Officially sobbing. Grateful for every single second,” shared Kardashian in a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram, saying it felt “crazy” that this epic show was ending.

The video continued:

“We just finished filming forever, like ever, ever. We’re done, we’re never filming again – isn’t that so crazy?! So we’re having a drink with the crew in my backyard, hanging out. Cheers to – I don’t know. 15 years; 20 seasons of craziness and lots of love.”

The end of the series was celebrated in a socially distanced way due to the COVID pandemic, at an outdoor garden party for the cast and crew. Of course, the champagne was still flowing.

This milestone comes in the midst of brewing divorce rumors about Kardashian and her husband Kanye West, who have reportedly been living apart for months.

Appreciate those around you

The Kardashian family has faced a lot of criticism over the years, but they have a reputation for being generous and professional, even during times of personal hardship and public scrutiny.

The family understands that success and fame are fleeting. Their longevity is due to the support of hundreds of cast, crew and supporting team members, and the family always makes sure those people feel appreciated.

After being with E! for 20 seasons, the Kardashians are moving over to Hulu  – so who knows what to expect next.

Hero of the Week: Boss Finds Out New Employee Walked 20 Miles to Get to Work, Buys Him New Car

By | Food for thought, generosity, Inspiring Stories, kindness, Self-Improvement, uplifting

Sometimes it’s easy to feel like all our hard work doesn’t pay off. But there’s times the universe (or our boss!) gives us a reminder our efforts are actually noticed and appreciated.

bellhops-ceo-gifts-employee-new-car

Walter Carr, an Alabama college student, drove a 2003 Nissan Altima, but as bad luck would have it, the car broke down the night he was supposed to start a new job with Bellhops Moving company. Carr couldn’t get someone to give him a lift to work the next morning, but he refused to give up, and used Google Maps to walk from his location at midnight to his job by 8 a.m. Friday. It took a whopping seven hours, but he made it, NY Post reports.

Carr walked for hours before Pelham police spotted him around 4 a.m. Impressed with his perseverance, they treated him to breakfast and dropped him off at the home of his first customer Jenny Lamey.

Lamey said Carr showed no sign of his bad night while at the job. In a Facebook post she shared: “I just can’t tell you how touched I was by Walter and his journey. He is humble and kind and cheerful and he had big dreams! He is hardworking and tough.”

Lamey started a GoFundMe page to help Walter with his car troubles, but it won’t matter now. Bellhops CEO Luke Marklin heard what happened and drove from Tennessee to Alabama on Monday to gift Carr with a brand new 2014 Ford Escape.

Not bad at all.

Boss of the year? Yes, we’d say so! And hard work does pay off.

5 Incredible Times The Rock Inspired Us to Become the Best Versions of Ourselves

By | Celebrities, charity, Food for thought, generosity, hard work, Inspiring Stories, kindness, The Rock

Turning 46 and more successful than ever, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one the most recognizable figures of Hollywood nowadays– and not just because of his towering height.

Born into a poor family that was constantly on the move due to his father’s flailing wrestling career, The Rock knew hardship from an early age. After his parents separated 14, Dwayne entered a long-time battle with depression, which was made worse by the threat of homelessness and pushed him down a path of delinquency.

Now, Dwayne Johnson has his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was named the world’s highest paid actor in 2016. He has become a vocal advocate for at-risk children and mental health awareness, and is actively toying with the idea of entering the political arena in the future.

Whether he decides to throw his hat into the ring of politics or continue starring in Hollywood’s most popular movies, we’re celebrating his birthday by remembering five of the most inspiring moments the former “punk kid”—as he sometimes describes himself – has offered us.

1. Giving back through charity

No stranger to adversity, Johnson is committed to sharing his success with the global community. One of his main avenues for this is The Dwayne Johnson ROCK Foundation, which aims to empower the lives, health and self-esteem of hospitalized children, aid in their education and offer mentorship in nutrition and physical fitness to fight childhood obesity and put children in charge of their own fitness and health since 2007.

He is also involved with The Beacon Experience, an organization dedicated to the academic success and prolonged education of children. He has also supported the Parkinson Society Maritime Region, Until There’s A Cure, the Red Cross, I Have A Dream Foundation and the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, among many more throughout the years.

2. Speaking out on depression and mental health

Earlier this year, The Rock took to Twotter to remind people that depression strikes indiscriminately and there is no shame in opening up and seeking help. He also made a point of speaking to men, as male sufferers of depression tend to seek out help far less often than women to societal conditionings – all of us have heard the toxic “boys don’t cry mantra”. Well, Dwayne Johnson doesn’t believe in that noise, and as someone who has battled depression for a long time, we should all heed his advice.

3. Telling a 4-year-old she inspires him

Caroline Lantz is a four-year-old battling Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a highly aggressive cancer that has spread through most of her body. Despite her struggle, Caroline refuses to back down, showing strength and resilience in face of her illness.

Learning of her story, Johnson shared Caroline’s fight on social media, asking fans to think of the young warrior and complimenting her strength – and bald head “I’m bald too, so that automatically makes me cool like you,” he wrote to Caroline.

My God look at this beautiful lil’ 4 3/4’s year old human. I’m so grateful this post caught my eye. We’re all pulling for you Caroline for a successful surgery tomorrow. I don’t know you, but I never knew how much I needed to see this picture until now. You inspire and motivate me. And I’m bald too, so that automatically makes me cool like you. Stay strong. Love, DJ. #Repost @maltz30 Hi @therock ! I wanted to reach out to you on behalf of this little , fierce warrior. THIS is Caroline Lantz, she’s 4 ( she’ll tell you she is 4 and 3/4 🤣) and she is battling Stage 4 Stage Neuroblastoma: a high-risk, aggressive cancer that has spread throughout almost all of her body, including her bone marrow. She needs us all on our knees praying🙏 for her as she goes in for her surgery to remove her tumor this Friday, April 27th at 8:00 am CST. I know you are a busy man, but if you have a moment to reach out to all of your fans to ask that they pray for Caroline this Friday it would mean the world to this precious girl! #carolinestrong www.carolinestrong.com

4. Responding to a promposal with hundreds of free movie tickets

When Katie Kelzenberg asked Dwayne Johnson to go to prom with her on social media, she never imagined what was going to happen. Just five days after posting her invitation online, Katie was shocked to hear Johnson’s voice reverberating through the high school intercom system.

Although The Rock was not able to make it, he rewarded Katie’s courage and devotion with a free screening of his movie Rampage. Not only did 233 free tickets make it her way, The Rock also offered “all the popcorn, candy and soda a teenager could ingest.”

5. Talking about the joy and privilege of being a supportive husband and father

Taking to Instagram after the birth of his third daughter, Johnson spoke of being “raised and surrounded by strong, loving women.” He added that attending the birth of Tiana Gia Johnson gave him newfound respect “for all mamas and women out there,” advising all fathers to be there and support their partners throughout the pregnancy and birth.

He also pledged to put his family and children first: “Your crazy dada has many responsibilities and wears many hats in this big ol’ world, but being your dad will always be the one I’m most proud to wear.”

Skin to skin. Our mana. Blessed and proud to bring another strong girl into this world. Tiana Gia Johnson came into this world like a force of nature and Mama @laurenhashianofficial labored and delivered like a true rockstar. I was raised and surrounded by strong, loving women all my life, but after participating in baby Tia’s delivery, it’s hard to express the new level of love, respect and admiration I have for @laurenhashianofficial and all mamas and women out there. Word to the wise gentlemen, it’s critical to be by your lady’s head when she’s delivering, being as supportive as you can.. holding hands, holding legs, whatever you can do. But, if you really want to understand the single most powerful and primal moment life will ever offer – watch your child being born. Its a life changer and the respect and admiration you have for a woman, will forever be boundless. And to my third and youngest daughter, Tiana Gia – like I did when your two older sisters Simone Alexandra and Jasmine Lia were born, you have my word, I’ll love, protect, guide and make ya laugh for the rest of my life. Your crazy dad has many responsibilities and wears many hats in this big ol’ world, but being your dad will always be the one I’m most proud to wear. Oh and one more thing.. you’re gonna love rollin’ in daddy’s pick up truck. #TianaGiaJohnson🌺 #3rdDaughter #BlessesAndGratefulMan #ImInTROUBLE

From Homeless to Movie Star – How Kevin Hart Changed Tiffany Haddish’s Life with $300

A decade ago, comedian Tiffany Haddish was homeless and living out of her car.

But the kindness and generosity of her current Night School co-star Kevin Hart changed her life. In 2005, at an L.A.-based comedy show, Hart noticed a bunch of stuff in Haddish’s car. He approached the aspiring comedian to offer kind words and all the money he had on himself — $300. That moment changed Haddish’s life.

Trying to make it in L.A.’s notoriously competitive stand-up scene, the Girls Trip star was working at a local comedy club – and doing her best to hide it from everyone. But Hart, whom she now calls the “big little brother she never had,” saw her struggle.

Haddish used the $300 he gave her to sleep in a hotel room for a few days. Hart also advised her to write down her most important goals and put her life together to pursue them. Haddish followed his advice, and Hart followed Haddish’s efforts, and they ended up developing a strong friendship.

Now, the two comedians headline the much-hyped comedy Night School, a movie that follows a group of misfits pursuing their GEDs in adulthood. And though she plays the role of a teacher in Night School, being a bit of an outcast is a familiar feeling to Haddish, whose childhood was cut short by tragedy.

Haddish’s father left the family when she was only three. Her mother Leola moved, and had four more children with her second husband. But when Haddish was only eight, her fathered tampered with her mother’s car breaks, resulting in an accident that left Leola with severe brain damage – and could have harmed the children as well, had they not unexpectedly chosen to stay home that day.

It’s been suggested that the accident might have triggered Leola’s schizophrenia as well, leaving a nine-year-old Haddish to be the main family caregiver. But Haddish’s struggles were far from over then.

Just three years after the car accident, Haddish and her siblings were separated from each other and put into foster care. Reunited with them under their grandmother’s care at 15 years old, Haddish used comedy to cope with new environments.

But despite an obvious talent for acting, she struggled at school. Her transgressions escalated to the point where she was one step away from mandatory psychiatric therapy. Her last chance to avoid that was attending the Laugh Factory Comedy Camp, an experience she credits with ultimately saving her life.

Woman Sends Text to the Wrong Number, Unknowingly Ends Up Helping Two Children with Cancer

By | faith, Food for thought, generosity, helping others, Inspiring Stories, kindness

Sometimes, a girl needs a second opinion. That’s exactly what “Syd” was looking for when she texted a friend some pictures of herself trying on a dress she was considering buying.

Things took a funny turn when she realized she texted the wrong number, getting a hilarious and supportive reply back from the unintended recipient, a father of six from Missouri.

“I believe this message was intended for someone else,” he wrote. “My wife isn’t home, so I couldn’t get her opinion, but the kids and I think you look stunning in your dress! You should definitely go with that one!”

Twitter user Mandi Miller posted screenshots of the exchange on Twitter, which made it go viral. But the story doesn’t end there.

As it turns out, the reason Tony Wood’s wife wasn’t at home to offer her own fashion advice is a heartbreaking one. She was taking care of Kaizler, the couple’s hospitalized six-year-old, who has been battling leukemia for years.

Twitter users quickly learned of the situation through the viral post, and one hawk-eyed user from India went on a mission to find a way to help the Woods out. Finding the family’s GoFundMe page, he shared it on the platform, asking the Twitterverse to work “its magic.”

And the Twitterverse delivered. At the time of publishing, the fundraiser had surpassed its initial goal over five times, reaching $54,510. Before the fundraiser was shared on Twitter, the Woods had only raised a little over $2,000, so it was an unexpected turn of events.

The outpouring of love and generosity has touched the family deeply, inspiring them to use their moment of fame for good.

With donations still coming in, the family of eight has decided to lend a helping hand to another family in need, redirecting people’s generosity towards Finn Sawyer Shafran, a three-year old diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, in August 2016.

Facing the mounting costs of caring for Finn, his family created a YouCaring fundraiser, which the Wood family shared on its own GoFundMe page. As of publication, that fundraiser too has passed its initial goal. Talk about paying it forward!
